So much beauty, while riding a bicycle. Whether it’s a sleek touring bike with a basket on the handlebars, a gleaming carbon race bike or a steel-levered fat-bike cycling in Garda is a colourful experience.
With a few hours to spare, one can admire the intense blues and greens of the lakeside promenade to Punta San Vigilio, or discover the pastel shades of the Valle dei Mulini (Valley of Mills). The possibilities increase with a little extra time and kilometres. Cycle routes from Garda lead as far as Mount Baldo, the Adige Valley, Valpolicella, Verona as well as Peschiera del Garda and as far as Valeggio sul Mincio and, by ferry, even to the Lombard shore. Lovers of challenging dirt tracks and gravel will find plenty to enjoy between the gulf, the Rocca fortress and Mount Luppia… and with an e-bike and an experienced guide Garda can become a perfect base for a thrilling two-wheeled holiday.

GARDA - BARDOLINO - LAZISE
A 20-kilometre round trip of easy, flat cycling suitable for everyone – absolutely everyone. One enjoys the lakeside route, by going slowly to admire the view and because there are many people who, even if not on a bike, walk, take photos.

ROCCA VECCHIA (OLD FORTRESS)
On a challenging route suitable for MTB or gravel, you pedal through the area of the artisans, behind the village, ascending from le Ràsole to reach, through olive groves and vineyards, one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the lower lake. The Rocca Vecchia, inhabited since prehistoric times, has traces dating back to the Palaeolithic period, remains of medieval walls and also trenches from the two Great Wars of the 20th century dug by soldiers and civilians for defensive purposes. A real journey back in time.
HERMITAGE OF THE CAMALDOLESI
The Hermitage of the Camaldolesi, an ancient Benedictine monastery founded in 1663, a place of peace and meditation, is an evocative destination, as is the route to reach it. It starts from the artisans’ area. After a stretch on the cycling path through meadows and woods, you arrive at a boundary stone marking the Garda, Costermano, Bardolino border. The last stretch skirts cultivated areas until reaching the dirt road that leads to the hermitage.

SAN VIGILIO – LE SENGIE
One can walk and happily stop to admire the lake from many angles. Just a hint, because the arrival will be much more than a view, but an embrace of Garda’s blue. From the San Carlo Gardens, in front of Villa Albertini, you walk along the lake, past the green reed beds and cross the route that reveals rock carvings engraved on ‘liscioni’ as far back as the Iron Age. The architectural hub is Villa Canossa. Nature, archaeology and art.
GARDA - CAPRINO
A loop that changes colour as the kilometres go by. We start at the Gardacqua car park, then take the cycling path from Garda to Mount Moscal di Affi and, amidst vineyards and wonderful views of the lake, return to Garda. We continue towards Campagnola di Castion and then Pesina, to the slopes of Mount Belpo, where we can discover the Grotta del Barbera hiking area.
